Station Alert Information

8th & Market Station – South Elevator Out of Service for Modernization

Beginning the week of May 5, the South Elevator (Platform to Concourse) at 8th & Market Station will be out of service for approximately 14 weeks for a full modernization. During this time, customers should use the North Elevator.

The North Elevator remains available daily, except during its scheduled closure from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.

This work is part of a larger project to modernize elevators at both Lindenwold and 8th & Market stations. The elevators, originally installed in the late 1990s, are being upgraded to replace aging components and improve overall reliability. Modernization includes new controllers, door operators, car panels, power units, switches, and wiring.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these important upgrades.
